The Third State Level Primary Chess League 2024, organized by the Nursery Primary Branch at SV Lancer Road, offered young students a dynamic platform to display their skills, fostering cognitive development and enhancing logical thinking. All the students of class III to V were given a chance to participate in the competitions organised at the School level which provided further opportunities to participate at the Zonal and District levels, out of which a total of 173 students including 84 Girls and 89 Boys participated at the State level Competition. The league featured separate categories for boys and girls in 8 rounds beginning from November 12th, with the last round followed by the Prize distribution ceremony on the 14th November 2024.
The Prize distribution ceremony was honored by the presence of the worthy Director of Education, Smt. Veditha Reddy, IAS, who not only motivated everyone but also interacted with the participants about benefits of playing chess and developing important life skills such as problem solving, teamwork, sportsmanship and logical thinking. She also extended her gratitude to the parents and escort teachers for their support. Additional Director of Sports, Ms. Shreya Singhal, expressed her delight at witnessing the exceptional performances of such young talents.
The event was also graced by Dr. Rita Sharma, Additional DE (NPB); Smt. Neelam Yadav, DDE North;Sh. Sanjay Subhas, DDE Exam; Dr. Anita Vats, DDE School; and Sh. Arvind Bhile, DDE Zone 8.
Dr. Kanchan Jain, DDE Nursery Primary Branch, extended heartfelt greetings to all the dignitaries, students, escort teachers and participants of the cultural events for making the league a success.
